wall climbing

on my lunch break today, i met up with an old friend who's having lunch with her co-workers. during lunch, we ended up having discussions about stuff we do after work. my friend is currently taking "art of combat" class and very excited to learn more on kicking and knocking people down. of course, this class is actually for self defense, so they taught her how to twist, kick, punch if she were ever in the position of defending herself from an attacker. another girl in the group was telling us about the dance class she's been taking. a traditional dance lesson which i know takes a lot of discipline and talent. it seems she really enjoys this activity that she was talking about teaching kids free to learn the traditional dance. sounds fun!

while discussing this, my friend and i discussed how we never met up on weekend to do wall climbing anymore. we used to do this on weekends and we had a lot of fun. it sure is hard and your body sure aches all over after you're done, but i really love this sport. so as we were discussing on when we would go again.. the traditional dance girl joined in the conversation.

"i can't do wall-climbing. it's too hard for me"

my friend and i then just said, yeah it is.. but it's fun, at least for us! then she answers...

"maybe it's not that hard if i tried it.."

so you mean, you haven't tried it? so how would you know that it's hard?

"i don't. i just know that i won't sacrifice cutting off my nails to climb up the wall."

hueahahha.. so true! one of the things about wall climbing, the power comes from your arms and also, the powerful grab of your fingers. therefore, long fingernails are very much not recommended!
